How to Buy Used Gym Equipment
8 min read
A practical process for finding, vetting and paying for used gym equipment safely.
Decide the spec before you shop
Write down the machines, the maximum footprint and the budget. Used inventory changes daily, and a clear spec keeps you from buying whatever happens to be cheap that week.
Vet the seller
Look for a trading history, clear photos of the actual unit rather than stock images, and a written description of faults. Ask for a short video of the machine running.
Agree freight and payment terms in writing
Confirm who crates the equipment, who pays for liftgate service, and what happens if the machine arrives damaged. Pay through a traceable method, never by irreversible transfer to an unverified seller.
