How Much Does Gym Equipment Cost?

7 min read

Typical price ranges for treadmills, racks, machines, dumbbells and full gym packages, new and used.

Typical ranges

Commercial treadmills run roughly $4,000–$9,000 new and $1,500–$4,500 used. Selectorized strength stations are about $3,000–$7,000 new and $1,200–$3,000 used. Power racks span $600–$3,000 depending on gauge and options.

Dumbbell sets are priced by the pound: expect roughly $1.50–$2.50 per pound new and $0.90–$1.60 used, before freight.

Full fit-outs

A small studio fit-out typically lands between $25,000 and $60,000. A full commercial gym floor commonly runs $150,000 to $400,000 new, or a third to half that with a mixed new and refurbished package.

Don't forget freight

Freight, liftgate, inside delivery and installation can add 10–20% to a heavy equipment order. Always get these quoted before you compare prices between sellers.
